Quintin
Hawkins
Quintin Hawkins is Vice President for Legislative
Affairs with The McWhorter Group, Inc., an Alabama based consulting firm representing
numerous state and national clients.
Hawkins has built a wealth of experience in the business and political
world, developing relationship building savvy, communication skills, and an
ability to resolve conflict and build consensus among diverse groups.
Since 1990, Hawkins has managed Martha’s Place, a
restaurant and catering service established by his mother, Martha
Hawkins. According to The Montgomery
Advertiser, “Ms. Hawkins owns more than a restaurant with Martha's Place.
She owns a piece of Montgomery's culture”.
The business and Ms. Hawkins have received many national honors for
their initiative and leadership in the African-American community. Quintin Hawkins has managed all operations
of the business, with twelve employees, as well as led in planning community
events.
Prior to that, Hawkins
served as Director of the Fatherhood Initiative Program, through the Montgomery
Boys and Girls Club. He facilitated
monthly board meetings, planned and organized activities for participants, and
implemented training courses for new fathers.
Hawkins currently is
involved in the Montgomery, Alabama Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business
Development Group, Leadership Montgomery, and the Young Montgomerians Business
Club. Education was obtained at Auburn
University Montgomery with an emphasis on business administration.
He resides in Montgomery
with his wife Natalyn, and son Christian, age two.
